How often do you have add air?

I have the stock 18' I'm finding that I have to add air to all 4 of my Pilots sports about every six weeks. Is this normal for performance tires? I don't drive it that hard, never done a burn out. Is this normal tire care? Rarely had to add air to my Pathfinder's tires.

My Z's 18" Potenzas lose about 1-2 lbs every 2 weeks in the winter if I don't drive it much.

You do tend to lose more air this time of year when it's cold, but you don't actually lose it, like a leak, the cold temps make it lower, just like hot makes it higher!

Don't be sorry, that's a good explanation of what happens! Hey, I wonder why your name isn't showing here, are you being annonymous?

Hmm, so even though I live in Los Angeles where its a blustery 64 degrees, that's enough to cause this effect? And when our temp return to a norm of 72 I may even see a pressure increase? Amazing!

Re: How often do you have add air?

the other day my left front tire was down to about 15 psi, all others are around 30... the car's placard says they should be at 35 what is the difference??
I know that a little less air pressure is better for traction when racing...

Peace

Re: How often do you have add air?

In the summer months, I'll add maybe a pound here and there every month or so. But that's it.
In the winter with the lower temps, I'll lose a little.

That's the first time that's happened. Pretty strange.

Re: How often do you have add air?

do burnouts or driffting cause the wheels to loose pressure faster....
