Tire jack in my trunk

So I was gonna put on my winter tires/rims set today, and I figure I'd just get the spare tire jack out of the trunk.... not so fast. Either I'm an idiot, or I can't find the damn thing. So I call my dealer, and they say it's on the left side of the trunk, not in the cubby w/ the spare. So I take out the small fabric piece on the left side in my trunk. Now I see it, but can't get it out of there. Any thoughts?

Bro, You have to loosen the jacking screw slightly to loosen the jack from the mounting b4 removing. If you watch closely how you take it out, you'll have an easy time putting it back in.

Yes, there's a lip in there. The jack is expanded a bit to wedge it in place so it doesn't move. You have to twist the crank to flatten it all the way to get it under the lip. Also, don't force it.. I've heard that it's not to difficult to dent the fender visibly from the outside of the car if you're forceful.

Re: Tire jack in my trunk

Thanks... mine was wedged in so that it was pretty tough to loosen the jack, which is why this wasn't immediately obvious. I really wanted to buy some quicker/better jacks for this job, but the only auto shop in town had one kind - the portable kind that you drive up... no good for wheels.

And I'll be careful about the left fender, thx for the tip.
