Just wondering how much longer I can drive on these tires. So far I have just over 20k miles on them.

We're approaching rainy season here on the east coast. If you wait until you get down to the bare-minimum legal level, you'll be floating all over the place.
I had about double the legal tread on my last car (05 Malibu) and I hydroplaned all the way from Boston, Ma to central Jersey... it was scarey, and the tires were replaced before I rode home.... IMO, not worth it, and looks like you're getting close, more so on the rears. The fronts don't appear to be getting shallow. A deep groove on one side won't compensate for a shallow one on the other, your shallow point is your weak point....
Oh, and you can pick up a tire tread depth tool for $.99 at any auto parts store or general store that has an automotive section, it's a great way to cheaply and accurately gauge wear.

i would say your fine..looks like you have atleast 65% left if not more. I drove home on slicks before in a bad rain storm here in florida and was fine.

I drove mine until there was metal showing on the rears (13,000 miles lol). But I was holding off because i was buying rims and just got tires with them.

Looks like you're gonna be just fine. Weather is warming up anyways. Looks like even wear, too.

Is it a safe/cheap alternative to go wider for the OEM 19s? Like 275s in the rear and 245s up front?

It looks like you are fine for a few more months I'd say you have about 70%

Those are what mine looked like when I replaced them with winters this year. Now, I'm looking to get into a new set of summers, and haven't decided on PS1s or 2s....Originally Posted by JOKER
