Dealer says Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 too aggressive for g35 coupe. True or False?

Hello, I have a 2003 Coupe with OEM 18" wheels, it came with Michelin Pilot Sport tires.

Its time for a new set and want a upgrade, i was looking at the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 set.
The Dealer (Infiniti Glendale, CA) said they don't carry it because the PS2 tires were too aggressive for the car and that i will experience road noise.

Is this true?

BTW what other tires are good for the coupe? I am in southern california with sunshine year round, so no worries for rain/snow.

thanks for any input.

The PS2 doesn't come in the stock 18 inch size so you're gonna have to deviate a bit but others have put on the PS2 without a problem. Your dealership is just playing you.

same here, mine had PS2s when i got i bought it from infiniti of SM. PS2s are fine, you barely notice any road noise in the car anyway.

Switched from Yoko's to BF's KDW2's. Good so far.

I had the PS2s when I bought mine used. They were worn down more than half way and to me the road noise was unbearable. I replaced them with KDW2s and liked them at first, but then the KDWs started to display the same symptoms after a few thousand also. I then switched to Toyos and have been happy since. Very quiet tire with good grip, as you can see, I'm in ABQ so its mostly sunny and dry so I run these year round.

+10000. They are great tires, but pretty expensive.

I think the dealership is dead wrong. IMO PS2's are not too aggessive for the G35 coupe.

However, I have the OE Michelin PS's on my '04 with 17.5K miles on them now, and the roar is almost unbearable. Check and see if PS2's get as noisy as the OE PS's

Don't buy tires from the dealership, way too expensive. Buy them from tirerack or somewhere else where they are A LOT cheaper.

aggressive in terms of road noise, but never for performance. hell, i switched the rears to pirelli pzero rosso when the pilots blew (i absolutely hated those tires and their soft sidewalls), which were VERY LOUD, but supplied all my performance demands.

Yeah, me too. Except the roar is not almost unbearable, it is completely unbearable.
