285 40 19 Too big for rears?

I have bought some used 19x8 (fronts) and 19x10 (rear) Iforged Aeros, but was wondering if 285/40/19 tires had too much sidewall for the rears? The wheels have 245/35/19 for the fronts, and those should be no problem. Please reply. Thanks.

The reason I ask is becuase I have the wheels, but no car. I couldnt pass up the deal I got on the wheels, so I bought them anyways... Now I have to decide whether I want to sell the rear tires or not.

Who makes 285/40/19s? Yes, they would be an inch to big in the outer diameter. I'm assuming you know the correct size for the rears would be 275/35/19. 245/35/19 for the fronts is the correct size. I'm also assuming your wheels have the correct offset.

The offsets are ok for the wheels, but I figured the tires were a little too tall.

I think the best combo for me would be 285 35 19, or 275 35 19 for the rears.

FYI, Yokahama makes 285 40 19 tires (AVS Sport, great tires, very expensive though). They look mean as hell, and would probably look damn aggressive on the car, but the difference in overall diameter I think would affect VDC too much?

Your right, Yokohama does make a 285/40/19 tire. I have a spec sheet, but for that size, all the specifications are listed as N/A, so I thought it didn't exist. They must be very rare. You're right 285/35 or 275/35 would work. the 275/35s are closer to the stock OD though.
