I was doing work on my car the other day, and one of my family members either picked up the wheel lug key, or kicked it! I have searched the trash, and garage completely... They were installed at the dealer; would they have another copy of the key? I only had one myself. What can i do to remedy this problem ASAP i need to be able to remove the wheels in the next week! What would be the cost, and ramifications of the necissary steps.
PLEASE HELP ME! I AM GOING CRAZY! LOL

I know the dealer won't have a copy, nobody will, but the dealer should have given you a registration tag for your key. The registration # can be used to replace it thru the dealer.

If your dealer can't get you a copy of the key you could use something like this:

Dealer got a master key, just let them take the locks off and buy a new set

 

I just went through this myself last month. The dealership had the exact key so they didn't have to use a special wheel lock removal tool. You should go to the dealership and ask them if they have any keys that can take your lock off. Also ask them for the registration code for the lock, you can go through the mcguard who is the manufacture of the wheel locks and get the key direct from them.

Well, after seeing this, I may attach mine to the wrench like the lock papers say, I know for sure I am ordering an extra, right now!

I misplaced mine, I went to two different dealers, noone had a key, and the Service guy doesn't know of a "master" key. I lost the registration and was screwed. Luckily I found the key two days later.

Take it to a tire shop. They will take it out for you and then you just buy a whole new set of locks for your wheels.

Yeah, worst case scenerio, follow Raysurs advice. I had to go through this with my G20. You just have to bite the bullet and replace all 4 lugs. Anyways, what the tire shop does is that they etch a screwdriver type tool into the frame of the lugnut and then turn it. If that doesn't work, they will drill small holes and break it off.
