Broken wheel bolt..Help!!

This past weekend I decided to install my winter rims and tires (ASA KA3's, Snowsport 210's). After taking off my 18" summer tire, I put on the winter tire. First 3 lug nuts were no problem. I get to the 4th one and I find myself turning and turning. I'm like, "what's going on?" I take my flashlight and look only to realize that the bolt is pushed all the way in. How could this happen? I did not force the tire onto the hub. I may have hit the hub a couple of times as I missed all 5 bolts but nothing hard enough to push the bolt all the way in. I can't even manually turn the wheel more than a quarter turn around because the bolt is hitting something.

Roadside assistance came by this morning (luckily I was in the garage when this happened) and the guy said that he can't get the car out of the garage because the wheel does not rotate. He suggested calling a mechanic to come over, take off the brake caliper, do some other things that I don't remember, and push the bolt back out.

What should I do? I don't remember ever hearing of a mechanic doing house calls. But more importantly, I don't know how the bolt could have been pushed in.

Please help...

How far is the bolt pushed in? You might be able to pull it back out with the wheel off. Do a pulling and turning motion until you feel it lock in. Think of it like a gear that needs to be seated back in socket. If all else fails you might need to take off the caliper, rotors and hub and push the bolt back in from behind.
