Just bought a set of staggered stock 19's that were used on a 300zx for a few hundred miles. The owner wrapped all 4 wheels in 235/35/19 rubber...

Now I'm curious... will this setup be fine? Or should I buy some 265s/275s for the back and keep the extra set of 235s for the front? Also, will 265/30 work? or should i stick to 265/35?

all those sizes you mentioned are too short compared to stock, you need at least 245/35/19 in the front and 275/35/19 rear

 

most stock wheels arent actually staggered, our cars come stock with an 18x8 all around they just have larger tires on the rear, so if thats the case you wonthave a staggered look at all and those tires are tiny

 

stock on the 19's is 225 front and 245 rear, right?

i know 245/275 is what most ppl use here, but will 235/265 or 235/275 be fine? It's still wider than stock...

Also, is anybody running 265/30 or 275/30? Or would that put the wheels at risk?

 

I didn't see the part about them being stock 19's I thought they were aftermarkets from the 300zx, but run stock sizes on stock wheels, or at most bump the rears up to 255/40/19. The wheels themselves are actually staggered 19x8F 19x8.5 rear so running a staggered tire setup is ideal

 

I'm currently running 235/35 and 255/35 on OEM 19s. I do like the slightly lower profile of the tires a lot more than stock.

 

I am running 235/30R19F and 265/30R19R.
The VDC is just fine..... At least I don't feel it's being screwed up.
But you are running smaller than OEM size.
One of the memeber said I screwed up the speedometer by decreasing the overall diameter by 3%.
Would means when the speedometer shows at 100mph and you are actually running at 97mph and IF the speedometer shows at 200mph you are actually running at 194mph.

 

actually, you threw your speedometer off by 5.5%

What I'll probly do is run the 235/35/19 up front and buy a pair of 265/30/19's for the rear. I'm pretty sure that's the widest tire you can fit over 8.5" wheels, right?

Anyone have any experience running this exact setup? with general exclaim tires, preferably?

that's what i want, but i couldn't find the general exclaims in 265/35/19... only 265/30/19. Do you know how much of an impact this will make (i.e. - ride height, etc)?

a 265/30/19 is ~1.4" shorter in diameter than stock, so your rear will be .7" lower, but you'll have .7" more wheel gap than stock, which IMO is just goofy looking and it will actually be shorter than your front tires. You'll also greatly increase the chance of damaging a rim due to the decrease in sidewall. You'll possibly increase your acceleration slightly, but at the cost of fuel efficiency and top speed.

Which means if my speedometer is runnin at 100mph i am actually runnin at 95mph?
I don't think that's a big difference.
Speedometer is not 100% accurate any ways.
