Alignment

Brought my 2004 Coupe 6MT in for its first service and complained about the drift to the right. Before I knew it, the factory tech's were test driving the car. Seems like they are sensitive to this issue. They tried to perform an alignment, but have only made the problem worse.

Re: Alignment

it's not an alignment issue. the tsb explains the fix.

Re: Alignment

Do you mean the compression rod change? The service jockey at the dealer told me the "fix" increased the number of complaints! Anyone have any experience with this?

Re: Alignment

The TSB says something to the effect of "drive on level road at 60 or so mph, if the car completely drifts into the next lane within 7 seconds, your front right compresion rod needs to be replaced"

i had mine done about 3000 or so miles ago. After they fixed it, the car still had a very slight drift to the right (which is normal), but stayed in the lane during those initial 7 seconds.

just get it fixed.

Re: Alignment

Wait, you do know that it is normal under most conditions to have a slight drift to the right since most roads have the grade slightly lower to aid in drainage, right?
