Stock Brake Pads

How long did your stock brake pads last? I have 21K miles and I heard the brake sensor today. I would never had imagined they'd wear that fast.

Re: Stock Brake Pads

It really depends on how you drive the car. I had mine checked at 20K and mine were fine but the service manager told me he rarely sees brake pads in such good shape at 20K.

3mm left after 15,000 miles, replaced pads and rotors at 18,000 miles. Only 1mm left. glad they are under warranty!

How were your rotors? I still don't understand why they have a problem, I know, it's under warranty, but still.......
And, normjack, you do know about the warranty, right?

Re: Stock Brake Pads

Yeah, Nissan Motor Co extended the warranty on the rotors and pads to 3yr / 36,000 miles but I'm not sure all the exact details. Unfortunately, hearing your wear indicators at ~20K is not uncommon, depending on how hard you drive. I've seen cars with half that mileage need replacement, but then again i've also seen cars with that many miles and were still ok, just depends on what sort of driving you do. Nissan has changed the pads since the first release, so you're getting a slightly different pad when they're replaced under warranty, so you should probably see better life out of the replacement set.
