Carbonfiber Rims

For you carbonfiber lovers. Here's the rims you want. Personally I wouldn't trust the hold on my car but I'm sure they go through tons of test before releasing.

Re: Carbonfiber Rims

Cool, but ONE thing that came to mind. What if you hit a nasty pot hole or something and with a "regular" rim (aluminum and whatnot) you'll bend the lip and in most cases you may even just be able to drive away. With a Carbon Fiber lip, what happens? I know its strong, but if you can bend aluminum like its butter, I bet this thing would just crack, and you'll end up with a blow out.

They look cool

But I would think that these would be primarily for a show car or something as I wouldn't trust them in normal/rugged driving conditions.

Re: Carbonfiber Rims

Whats the pound weight on those? If they were light enough they would be great racing rims huh? I would trust them on the road. Now how do I get a CF body.... =P

Re: Carbonfiber Rims

well i am pritty sure there are 3.3 pounds per kl gram and so that would make those rims about 18.99 pounds which is ok asumming they are lager then 18s. if they are smaller then 18s then they are usless

Re: Carbonfiber Rims

^^^^^^^^^^^ Right its around 2.2 lbs/kg so that whould make those rims around 11lbs, and they look pretty baddass too, all you need is a set of transparent rubbers.

2003 Black , sunroof, leather,
splashguards, 8 wire Hypergrounding kit, 350Z intake duct, K&N filter.

Re: Carbonfiber Rims

I thought these rims are for racing purposes only. But the tuner style holes are saying that they are for differ applications.

Re: Carbonfiber Rims

That site is a little outdated. It says they will be available in summer 2003. I wouldn't mind getting a set of those for the track depending on the price though.
