Tire Preference?
Tire Preference?
What type of tire seems to perform the best? The stock stuff isn't that bad but the size is funky and the ride is ok. What is everyone else using? I currently have the stock 17s and stock tires, I want to get other peoples opinons about what they have tried.

I really like Yokohama PARADA Spec II's. They handle awesomely, but unfortunately they don't make them in the sizes that are used on the stock 18's. But the Michellin PILOTS sports are great tires stock, I can't complain about them one bit.

Those SO-3's don't grip so well in the puddles with the VDC off, do they, pestilence? I bet you're wishing you hadn't left your Viagra in the glove box while your car is in the shop! (J/K. Hope you get your car back soon. It's not fun.. I wrecked my '86 Accord when I was 20 - only instead of a curb, I impacted a Dodge Colt, who in turn impacted a Pontiac Bonneville. The Colt was an accordian. The Bonneville had a scratched bumper. The Bonneville driver was way more pissed than the Colt driver. $1900 later, my car looked like new.)
I'm interested in moving to a stickier tire, such as the SO-3's or Pilot's, but I like the stock rims. Anyone put 235's on the stock 7"-wide rims?

"Now listen up here, pesti the 3rd, back when I was a wee lad, we knew how to have fun. None of this hover-car fly over a building crap; no, we smacked our cars in to curbs and couldn't even get a loaner - and we were grateful!!!"

...and we needed every one of those 260 horses, because the commute to work was uphill both ways!

Re: Tire Preference?
I've seen TireRack's site claiming 235's fit. I've also been told by an Infinti service consultant that Infiniti says 225 is the widest you should go in the front. I'd prefer to go with 235's as the wheel diameter would only be off by 0.2%.
Now, if someone could just put some 235's on their G, turn the wheel fully to one side, and run over some parking lot bumps at about 70mph and tell me if the tire rubs the suspension, I'd appreciate it.
