Widest Tire

I did a search and couldn't come up with anything...

What is the widest recommended tire for an 19x8.5" rim? I was considering 265/35/19's but thought that might be stretching it (pun intended).

Thanks!

I've seen 255/40R19 on tirerack that are completely acceptable <clicky>. And I've seen people stretch 275/35R19 on their rears.

Nice screen name BTW.

Thats the stock size on the coupe rears. I can't wait untill I wear the stockies out so I can go plus one on the rear and plus 2 on the front!

I'm currently have 245/35/19 F & R on 19x8 Privat Netz's (which maybe be up for sale soon) . I'm getting 19" coupe rims which are 19x8F and 19x8.5R. I'll most likely have the fenders rolled to accomodate larger tires in the back.

I don't think the offset on the coupe rims should pose a problem, right?

No I do not have them rolled. The offset of my rims let me get by without rolling them.. I just took off my rear Spacers and they fit fine. But thats my Situation. Idk why but i took some pics to show that their is little bulge, but also some tires run bulgy like Bridgestone. So IDK how helpful this post is.

Now that i look at this i may need to roll my fenders

how about widest tires for the stock 17's ? stock tires are 215/55 17 i think.

It would be nice to get some wide tires with the same overall diameter.

245 is the best size for an 8.5 IMO. It is nice and square in shape. A 275 looks good on a 9-9.5".

It all depends on what profile tire you go with
