Re: Pirelli or Yokohama?

If no one else gives you a a reply, you can always got to the tirerack.com and compare. I have the AVS on a 1991 Merc and they are great. Good grip and quite, they also have good load capacity for the size 255/40/17. I have used PZero Asymet's before but not the Rossos-they grip like mad wet or dry but seem to wear poorly on the shoulders. 911s aren't tire friendly anyway-grip is what we all want..right!

Re: Pirelli or Yokohama?

I want grip but I also don't want to replace a $1000 set of tires every year. I don't think there will be a huge difference in grip between the two but the wear is more of a concern. Thanks for the info.

Re: Pirelli or Yokohama?

Tirerack has got the specs on wear and reviews if you trust the reviews. I did and hated the Kuhmo 712s after 5k.

Re: Pirelli or Yokohama?

Yokohama has a rep for being a fast wearing tire.

Re: Pirelli or Yokohama?

What is nice about the Pirelli is that you can rotate those tires.

But I give it hands down to Yokohama for the grip. I tried both for my Z and the Yokos performed much better after they are warmed up. And yes, they do wear faster than the Pirelli tire but they grip better on dry surfaces.

- Don't argue with idiots. They will bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.=P-

Re: Pirelli or Yokohama?

I think I might shell out the money and go with the Pilot Sports again. I'm pretty happy with them now. I especially don't want any noise increase because I use my G as a family cruiser. I drive pretty aggressively when I'm alone and after 10k on the oem tires they look like they have over 50% left.

Re: Pirelli or Yokohama?

Are you stuck on those brands? I had Bridgestones S0-3's on my 330 and they handled like they were on tracks. Wet or dry! They also wear very good for a soft compound tire. I can't think of a better tire.

Re: Pirelli or Yokohama?

I'm not really stuck on those two brands but they're pretty equal in price so I wanted a couple of opinions. How many miles did you get out of your BFs?

Re: Pirelli or Yokohama?

How about the Toyo Proxes T1S. These are very popular amongst the 350Z crowd and I have them on my G35C.
