245/35/19 front 255/40/19 rear possible?
245/35/19 front 255/40/19 rear possible?
Hello,
I am in a dilemma. I have to replace the OEM tires soon on a '06 coupe 6MT. OEM tires are out of the question because I can't afford (or don't want to pay) $1000 set of 140 tread wear tires.
I've done some reading and the consensus seems to be 245/35 front and 265/35 or 275/35 for the rear when replacing tires on stock 19" wheels.
Well, I can't find a matching set... the best I've come up with is
General Exclaim or Kumho SPT 245/35 fronts (never heard of general, but has the best rating on tirerack) and Kumho SPT 255/40 rears.
Is 10mm staggering enough to keep the VDC happy? I know stock front/rear stagger is 20mm, and that my speedo will be off by about 1.2%. However, if 10mm stagger won't ruin the car's balance, then I could save alot of money with these tires.
P.S. I''ve had good experience with Kumho tires before, and wider track should help anyway.
