I just noticed the add above says they are for non VDC cars only. Anybody know why?

Re: Anyone with nismo wheels...

it is nismo's little insurance, they don't want to be liable...

vdc is fine. but nismo will only guarantee that vdc is fine if you buy their suspension package, and sways, and wheels all together....

Re: Anyone with nismo wheels...

IMO, it's Nismos way of selling suspension pieces. If you read the fine print it says it's OK if you put on Nismo springs and sway bars. This just doesn't make sense. I believe, that as of now, the warning has been withdrawn. Anyway, I have had no problem with my VDC. If you keep the by ODs the same as stock with the 245/40 and 275/40/18 tires, all will be fine.

Also, if the warning really were true, it would apply to all aftermarket wheels, and we all know that just isn't true.

Re: Anyone with nismo wheels...

why if i have 18's now, and a 245/45/18 tire (rear) should i go with the 275/40/18 tire (rear) with the new nismo wheels? sorry for my ignorance on this topic.
Wouldn't that be decreasing the tire wall height? I am not going to be dropping the car, so would staying with a 45 height be better?

Thanks a bunch!

Re: Anyone with nismo wheels...

Sidewall height is a percentage not a fixed measurement. 45% of 245 is almost identical to 40% of 275, therefore keeping overall diameter the same. Also for the same reason, the fronts would be 245/40/18 instead of 225/45/18. That is optimal for 8.5"/9.5" wide rims BTW, although some people are running these sizes on the stock rims without any reported problems.

Re: Anyone with nismo wheels...

Yes, some people are running those tires on their stock rims at their own risk. It's not recommended by any of the tire manufacturers. The recommended rim width for 275/40s is 9.5", the stock rim width is 8". Just wanted to set the record straight.

However, running 245/40s on the stock rims in front is fine.
