will nissan tpms work on the infiniti?

They really charge $400 for those things? Another "rape by government mandate."
Can anyone confirm the quote above? When I talked to a guy a tirerack, he said that once the dealer reprograms the new tpms, the car will be able to read them without having to get them reprogrammed everytime you swap them. I am thinking about getting another set of tpms for winter tires but I don't want to have to bother with making a drive to the dealer everytime I put winter tires on or switch back to my factory set.

Also, does anybody know if the tpms from a 2004 nissan quest can be used on the infiniti cars? I've got an '08 G35S coming in a few weeks and I need to put my winter set on as soon as I get the car and I want to have all the parts ready. Thanks.

I am getting rims installed on Friday (i hope) and ordered separate sensors but not sure what will be needed. So if i have a problem off to the dealership ill go.

I hoope its only a one time fee as i don't want to run my new rims for just every day.

TPMS necessary?

Newbie here so please bare with me:

I was shopping around for winter tires and the TPMS issue came up. This is what the shop told me: "If I get new wheels, I would have to buy the new sensors for the following reasons:"

1. "New Car Canadian manufacturing regulations are requiring all new cars as of 2007 year to have TPMS". It is total voluntary for the end user to have them on or not.
2. "With the TPMS deactivated or tampered with, they do not know if this will affect the ABS braking performance on the vehicle". Does anyone know if there is any truth to that?
3. "Without the TPMS, it could void any manufacturers warantee on wheels and the components." Can anyone shed some light on this?

Cheers

Phil

I don't think so. But you should ask your dealer if not sure.

It depends. There are a couple of manufacturers of TPMS sensors currently. Car manufactures don't necessarily stick with the same manufacturer for their entire model line.

Also, the sensors can be programmed as "high feature" and "low feature". You will need to find out if the manufacturer of TPMS modules from the Quest, and the way the modules function in the car. If the quest only displays a light, like our G sedan, they have a "low feature" module. If the TPMS system on the quest displays the location of the faulty tire on the vehicle, they have a "high feature" module. Some TPMS valve stem modules (like Lear) can be programmed via RF scanner to be either "high feature" or "low feature."

For sure the ones on the 2007 can be mixed up (not corner specific) as long as they are matched to the car. I've also heard they are different in color from previous model years.

Can the TPMS be installed in all aftermarket wheels without modification? Do the tire dealers usually know how to do this install? Just curious.

why wouldn't you install them in your new wheels. you paid for them. used it.

install them with a band if the aftermarket wheels don't accept the tpms. easy

When I first got my new wheels, I didn't install them. My light never went off stayed on. Mad annoying. I finally got a hold of set and had them put them in. Plus its nice to know when your tire pressure is running low.
...long story short...PUT THEM IN
