Purchasing Axis Milano... NEED HELP!!!
Purchasing Axis Milano... NEED HELP!!!
Okay, I've decided to go with the Axis Milano wheels for my coupe. I'm going with 19" 8.5's all around. However, I'm really confused as to which size tire to get. I have no idea what all of those numbers mean, nor am I familiar with the whole offset thing. Please help. I'd appreciate suggestions on what size tire to get and why. I'm concerned with both looks and performance, so try to keep that in mind when answering. Also, I'd appreciate a quick explanation of the offset thing and how it works, as well as your recommendation on which offset to go with and why.
Thanks so much for your help. This forum has really given me a lot of information.

Re: Purchasing Axis Milano... NEED HELP!!!
Two more question... first, will I be able to fit a 19" x 9.5 tire in the rear of my coupe without any modification or problems? I'd like to have that staggared look. Also, is it in any way possible to choose a tire size that will not throw off the speedometer calibration?
Thanks in advance,
Frank

Go with this setup for your coupe:
19x8.5 front with 245/35/19 tires
19x9.5 rear with 275/35/19 tires
You will still have the stagger (with a nice lip to add) and the VDC plus speedo will not have any problems.
As for offset, it might be a little different for Axis Milano since I am not familar with the curving of the spokes, but I think you have an auto tranny correct (meaning that you don't have the BREMBO setup).
I would be safe and have no less than +22 offset on the front and keep somewhere between +22~29 on the rear so you will have a nice lip. The lower the offset is the bigger lip you should have. But the lower the offset is, the closer to the outside fender wall the lip of the rim will be. Who ever your dealing with should know the proper offsets, I will do a search for you on these rims and get you the offsets you should safely run.
Good luck!

They should work perfectly!
I used to be an employee at Axis, and in fact i was just there 30 minutes ago, installing my wheels. To answer ur question about offsets, ur just in luck, cuz pretty soon, Axis will be offering a 15 offset for the fronts, which is the setup that we used for the AXIS project 350z. We also used a 20 offset in the rear. With those fitments they should work perfectly. And I agree with ray, go with 245/35/19 in front and 275/35/19 in the back. I went with a 30 in the rears and i personally wished i got a taller tire in the rear.

Re: They should work perfectly!
I had my +15 fronts and +22 rears custom drilled. Costs 20 bucks extra per wheel. The regular +30 and +35 will NOT clear the brembo's.
