Another TPS question. (Am I on the right track)?

I need some help. (Search answered everything but what I needed)

A few months ago, I had one of my rims off to be polished. A few weeks afterwards my tps started going off on a regular basis. The first time I checked, pressure I was down a bit, I added air, and I figured it would fix everything. It continued to go off here and there, I'd check the pressure, and it was somewhat ok. I was about to go have my tires checked for a leak and the light ghost mysteriously disappeared.

I haven't given it much thought for the last few months until the light started again this weekend. It's been off for the last few days, but it's frustrating. I haven't had any problems with my tires/rims before. (20" jline for over a year now)

Was my wheel installed incorrectly? Could they have damaged the sensor in the install? I hesitate to go back to the guy who did the tire as it's been at least 4 months ago.

TIA

I'm thinking the sensor got damaged on the install of my tire.

I watched them do it for the initial install and they really had to be careful getting it on. By the second or third tire they had it figured out, but on the first one the guys really had to fight with the tire.

redlude97: I believe the sensors are in the same place as they were on the oem tires/rims. I have to ask and get back to you on that one.

SilverII: Filling with more air isn't the fix I wanted. Light ghosts are annoying on a car that has been problem free.

they might just need to be reprogrammed. I'd take it to the dealer and have them do that to see if it fixes it.
