Coilovers: Aftermarket vs. Stock

For all you guys who have coilovers, I'm wanting opinions on the ride comfort AND handling performance between the aftermarket ones vs. the stock, especially those of you with the sports package. I don't have the "sports package" with the Brembos and titanium dash and whatnot...

First of all, I'm wondering if the suspension/springs are the same whether you bought the regular 5AT with 17" wheels or the 18" "sports package." With this in mind, if I were to get the Tein CS, would the change be a lot rougher then say if going from the "sports" suspension to the CS? (Assuming spring rates and different for the non-sports and sports package)

I'm looking for a bit of performance, yet I want a bit of comfort as well (my daily driver). My choices in order of increasing stiffness (according to what I have researched from previous posts, please correct me if I'm wrong) are: Tein CS, HKS Hipermax LS, Tein Flex, and JIC FLAT2. I've been sponsored by a couple of companies for car shows and so have ruled out the Tein Basics due to its "entry-level performance." I really like the EDFC feature of the Teins, but for my purposes, it seems that the Hipermax LS would have the compromise of ride comfort and handling that I'm looking for. The only negative aspect is it is nonadjustable.

I don't autocross, but I do go to the track every once in awhile. Thanks ahead guys!

Re: Coilovers: Aftermarket vs. Stock

i would get the Tein CS. it comes with rubber mount to prevent rough ride quality and its adjustable. The tein flex is also a good choice but it might be a stiff for some people. The HKS hipermax LS is the entry level performance coilovers from hks, so they are almost equivalent to tein basic. Although I don't know how well the tein CS performs on the track, but just add some sways and I think you will be ok.
