rotate tires

my front tires are only worn on the inside and they're directional, so i want to take the tires off of the wheels and switch sides (front right tire will go to front left wheel), but keep them going the same direction. so the worn part would then be on the outside. is this possible? is it dangerous or bad for the tires?

i will eventually get an alignment, but not until i get new tires. thanks.

people flip tires side-to-side all the time. you're good as long as the inside of the tires now aren't too bad.
