Actually, they are even with the rim...using the 245 and 275/35-19's that is. With the 245/35 for the front and 275/35 rear, the speedo is almost dead on; the sizes are very similar to stock. The speedo will be about 1.2% off for the front and .7% for the rear. If you take treadwear into account there is no difference between the two sizes.
Using 275/30 size, the difference jumps to 4.5%...

an 8.5" wheel should have no wider than a 265mm wide tire on it, and thats pushing it, you can see the bulge in your pics clearly, but as long as you are happy.....

You're right, instead of the tires being smaller than the rim, they are a .25 inch over. I think the added tire width, rim protection, and look are worth it. To each man his own...
