Brakes Squeeking again!

Re: Brakes Squeeking again!
Yeh....whats up with the brakes on these cars. Doesn't Infiniti know how to make brakes? This is not new technology! Does the G have a braking system not used on previous Infiniti's??
I have had the following on my coupe:
1). At 3700mi. dealer replaced the rear pads with a claimed "new" improved rear pad....squeeks returned shortly, mostly while backing-up.
2). At 7500 mi. replaced front pads. Dealer said squeeks will continue until Infiniti comes up with a fix. I must say 7500 is **** poor mileage for front pads. Also within a few hundred miles I now have more squeeks when applying the brakes going both forward or backward.
This seems to be a real problem area on this car. I am more concerned about the short pad life then the squeeks. It's nice they put it under the warranty, but what about after 36k miles? Hopefully they will come up with a fix. But they will have to recall all G35's to do it! How likely is that??????

Re: Brakes Squeeking again!
Do you guys have the Std. Brakes (5AT) or the Brembos (6MT)? I have the Brembos and mine squeeked ALOT the first 10K but of course the dealer said they had no fix for time and time again. Now I'm at almost 20K and it only seems to do it once in a while when she's cold. It is quite annoying rolling up to a nice restuarant with a sweet ride and everyone is looking at it until your brakes make a shrill high pitched squeek. Yuck. The only thing I could recommend which the dealer said was to clean the brake dust of the rotors and pads using compressed air or water spray. I did notice this seems to help alittle. The dealer's theory was that it was the brake dust building up too quickly on the outer edges of the brake pads. Good Luck.

Re: Brakes Squeeking again!
My G is just over 4600 miles and lately I've heard the brakes squeek when the brake pedal is about half way down with the car moving. It doesn't squeek when the pedal is out of that small zone. Is this what you guys have experienced? I'm hoping it's just cold weather (-8F today). If not, I intend on using that 36K brake warrenty as much as I can. I'm thinking after the 36K, perhaps a set of brake pads from Car-X or something could be better in this regard.

Re: Brakes Squeeking again!
my right front brake is making really really loud squeek... its so loud everyone on the road would look at me, frowning by the time im stopped... im at 10600miles now never replaced the brake pads (not that i know of) i think my brakes are just worn off... going to dealer next week to check it out...
its true when the pad is worn off, it makes loud squeeking noise to "warn" the owner its dead right?

Re: Brakes Squeeking again!
That's what I will do once the brake warranty is over, look for a different type pad, unless Infiniti comes up with a different one, which they should if they have a clue in Japan, this kind of thing could kill a vehicle line, really fast, they need to wake up and replace everyones brakes with a better wearing pad, not just replace them with the same thing, maybe the NTSB needs to get involved! I know they stop great, but my Mustang GT stopped great too, I had over 35k on it when it was traded, never had a brake issue! Maybe we can "gang" complain to them!!!
