Is the hub bearing stressed more with larger spacers?

As the title says, is the hub bearing stressed more with larger spacers versus smaller spacers?

Thanks.

So, a 5mm spacer puts the same amount of stress on the bearing as a 25mm spacer does?

No. A 25 mm spacer would place more stress on your hubs than a 5 mm spacer.

What redlude97 is saying is, this: If your stock rim is 18x9 +40 offset, adding a 5 mm spacer would be no more stressful than going to an 18x9 +35 offset rim.

This is because adding a 5mm spacer onto an 18x9 +40 offset rim pushes the rim further out the same amt as running an 18x9 +35 offset rim.

If you added a 25 mm spacer onto an 18x9 +40 offset rim, you would now be running an equivalent 18x9 +15 offset rim which would stress the hubs more than 18x9 +35 or +40.

How tough are the bearings?
How long and how much of a stress can they take?
