Tires for G35 sedan

I have a 2004 G35 sedan (sports suspension). It came with a good year gsd tires. When I replaced the tires a couple of years ago, I didnt want to spend a lot of money, hence I ended up getting AVON M550. I have had all kinds of problems with these tires. For one thing they are very noisy. Some tires have cupped out and worn unevenly. Once I get upto 40 mph, there is a slight vibration on the passenger side. Apart from this, if I were to do over 80 mph, the car becomes less stable. So much for trying to save a few bucks on tires.

I have to get new tires now. Just wanted to see if you guys had any recommendation. I am looking for all season good driveable tires. I am not a slow driver. I like to drive fast. Dealer recommended Good Year RSA and Bridgestone Turanza. Does anyone have these tires? How are they handling? noise level?
Or if you have had good luck with any others, please share the experience here.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

The Goodyear RSAs came stock on my 07X. They are sitting in my basement with only around 100 miles on them. I will reinstall them when I sell the car in a few years.
I am now running Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires, they are a ultra high performance all season tire and so far I am extremely pleased with the performance of these tires. They are quiet and seem to have lots of grip in the dry and the wet.

Prathap.

If you want to stay with the Stock size (215/55R17) then you have limited options.

The Eagle RSAs were standard on the car (for those who did not get Summer tires). They are pretty Decent. Most prople will tell you that the Turenza are not good at all.

I am considering Yokohama AVID V4S when I replace my RSAs.

tires

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I am not very knowledgeable in this area. Can you put any other tires apart from stock size on these rims. If so, please let me know what other tires are good.

I was simply going with what the dealer recommended. In fact the avon tires I have on now is 215/55ZR17. Is this a stock size?

The worst case, I am probably going to stick to good year rsa.

Thanks.

Good year respnose edge

Hi Mrdwaters,

What do you think about good year response edge tires? There is pretty goos feedback on tirerack. Even the Avon tires I have on had excellent feedback on tirerack. It turned out to be otherwise.

I think the issue with feedback on Tire Rack is that it's usually premature. I made it a point to look at some of the feeback where folks had more than 10 miles on their tires. Then you get more realistic feeback.

I took a look at the Yokos and Avons and the long-term feedback was not good.

Those Michelin Pilot Sports may be expensive but they are a great tire for the long haul.

Just my .02.

Bridgestone RE960AS pole positions. 40K mile warranty, they are very sticky for an all season tire, sticky enough for my car to go through a pretty gnarly canyon run on 20's and never let go of the road. And they're much cheaper than Michelin All Seasons.

Thanks guys

I think George is right about Tirerack feedback. At the time I bought the Avon tires, Avon was rated no 1 by tirerack. I fell for it. I guess as long as I stick to one of the big names like bridgestone, good year, Michelin, it wont go as bad as Avon did.
