Winter tires and wheels

I just got a new 2007 G35 6MT coupe w/ the 19" summer tires, so sometime before winter sets in I need to get a set of winter tires w/ wheels. I've read that there aren't many tires and/or wheels that fit properly on the 6MT coupe. Anyone up north have any experience to offer up? Are 18" the right size to get? TireRack.com lists the Bridgestone Blizzak LM-22 as the tire to put on this specific model, but shows no wheels available for 18" winter tires. Has anyone found a setup that works well in winter?

Thanks.

If you're up north you should def. purchase oem 17" rims from the base model G35 and mount Blizzacs. Of course the car doesn't look as hot on 17's but u gotta protect your investment and you'll have great traction in winter on 17's with bigger profile.

I bought a set of used OEM 18s with blizzaks and loved how the G handled in snow. Gonna be my third winter this year.

Go with 17's. You will have a taller sidewall on the snow tires, and in turn will aid in traction and overall winter weather performance.

I put 17" ASA KA3's w/Dunlop Winter Sport M3 tires on my car.
I sacrificed a little in the handling dept, but not a significant amount.

The taller side wall gives you more rocking motion in tight cornering, but nothing you can't get adjusted to.

I went with 225/55/17's all the way around, and no problems with the VDC/ABS systems at all. This set up allows me to rotate the tires, since I used to do about 12,000 miles during the winter months.
If you don't drive alot, go with the staggered setup. I believe its 225/50/17 front and 235/50 17 rear
only problem was the TPS light would come on now and again if I drove for more then 30-40 minutes.

What's up. I also just bought an '07 G35 6MT. How much would you be willing to sell your 350Z wheels/tires? What is the tread and the exact make of tire?

Thanks for the suggestions. It looks like TireRack has a lot more wheel options for the 17" anyway, so I guess that's the way to go. What I really should do is move to a warm climate and I wouldn't even have to worry about it.
