Safe Socket for 18" wheel removal

I saw a post here sometime back regarding a teflon coated socket that would fit the G's 18" lugs without the possiblity of scratching the rims......does anyone know if they are still available and where to order....I think I remember it was a catalog for auto tools or something like that....If anyone knows this information please pass it on....thanks 2old4this

haven't tried it yet, but what about some duct tape around the socket to prevent scratches?

Re: Safe Socket for 18" wheel removal

spinn,
I went with the socket set from tool warehouse...
it includes 7 different sizes and all are anodized aluminum with plastic sleeves on the outside to prevent any scratching to the wheel surface.....they were a little pricey....but I think there worth it....I also purchased a 24" breaker bar to keep in my car in case I need to change out a tire in an emergency...

check out the set here

I am missing it. I have looked and searched all over their website. What was the exact name of it?

Just use a standard socket and put some heat shrink tubing on it. I did that and it works great, no scratches on the rim and costs less then a buck.

I just put some duct tape / electrical tape around the regular socket.
