Brake Dust
Brake Dust
Hi, I'm sure this topic has been brought up before, but I'm new to this forum stuff. Are you guy's experiencing excessive brake dust? Or is it my compulsiveness to try to keep my 18" wheels clean. I can't go 20 miles with out them looking like [censored]. I've received my notice from Infiniti about them taking care of excessive pad wear to 36,000 mi. I've only got 7,500 now and it's stored for the winter. For me it's not a question of wear yet, but the dust is killing me. I have been checking around and come up with a dust free ceramic composite as the fix. Any recommendations! Manufactures, brands, distributors, etc. Thanks
Re: Brake Dust

Re: Brake Dust
Try the tirerack and look for Satisfied pads. Or just by some Eagle 1 AtoZ and wax the rims after you clean them. Pads will most likely be a one time investment.

Re: Brake Dust
Have you changed to these pads, are they supposed to have a longer life as well? BTW, doesn't waxing the wheel make it collect more dust, like when you wax the car, it seems to collect more dust than before?

Re: Brake Dust
I'll try that then on my front wheels, mine being chrome, it doesn't seem to show up as fast anyway for some reason!

Re: Brake Dust
Oh, I didn't say it was easy to clean, you should have seen the front wheels after a drive on wet streets, in a rain storm!

Re: Brake Dust
Hey, that doesn't hurt the wheel finish then? I have always been afraid to try those things, I knew a guy who tried something on his Jag some years back, and it really screwed up the wheel finish!

Re: Brake Dust
Make sure you get the right kind of cleaner for your wheels.. there are different cleaners for chrom, alloy, etc... The wrong cleaner can ruin your rims.

Re: Brake Dust
I use these wheel wipes that are easy to use between washes. I think they are made by black magic. I also use zaino on my wheels, it makes dust easier to remove.
