Sedan Offset Question

Grrr. I am getting very irritated with sedan offsets. I thought I had my wheels all set and on the way, but the dealer told me they wouldn't fit today. Here is my question. I had originally ordered 19x8 with a 42 offset (front) and 19x8.5 with a 48 (rear) offset. Apparently the 42 offset is a Volk type "B" offset that will not work with the front caliper. I don't have aftermarket brakes, and don't plan on getting any, so wouldn't that wheel fit? I measured from the face of the disc to the caliper, and it is under 15mm. That isn't much, right?
I got the 48 because I wanted to run a 255 tire. I see that other people have run 8.5's with 38 offset with no problems. Would a 255 rub with a 38 on the rear? Can I run a 19x8 with a 32 on the front and 245 tires? If I did that, the front would stick out more than the rear, so would a 19x8.5 with a 35 (has more lip) or a 38 work on the rear with a 255? Sorry for the long post. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Re: Sedan Offset Question

OK, after further reading of the sedan offset post, I am going to go with 19x8.5 with a 38 offset for the front and 245 tires, and 19x9.5 with a 42 offset in the rear with 255 tires. I figure if people are doing 19x9 with 45 and 275 tires, it will work. The tire is always wider than the wheel in these cases, so the centerline of the wheel is the centerline of the tire, meaning an 8" with a 45 offset and a 255 tire will stick out the same as a 9.5" with a 45 offset and a 255 tire. The only thing is that I am not lowering, so it may stick out (but not rub). Any thoughts?
