If you are going to play that much and track it why are you going with springs and not a good set of coilovers like the Tein Flex. They are harsh on the street but do give you way more control. I love my CS set but they are a bit soft for hard track use, they work fine for here and there as long as I stiffen up the sway bars a bit and turn the EDFC all the way down.

Coilovers would be nice, but I'm staying within a tight budget (college student with a wife and kid - doh!). I'm not really sure how much track time I will see, or if I will get any in the near future, but the more I discuss this with you the more I realize I'm going a bit too deep with too small a shovel, ifyaknowattamean.

It's cool though... Weren't you on H&R springs at some point, Tim? Were those sedan specific, or were they more meant to drop a coupe or Z? I know how nice the roads are in Phoenix (I had the pleasure once of driving my mother-in-law's S2000 through there), but did you have any problems bottoming out? Just curious.

On second thought, I could just sell my parts and get the TEIN basic set. Thoughts, suggestions? How much more is the Flex system than the basics?

look at it this way...a cheap set of coilovers (basic Teins) would do sooo much more than spring/shock combo, in the sense that at the very least, you could adjust the height of the car. Basic Teins along with a strut bar, and upgraded sway bars would lead to a bigger smile on the track (i assume...i've yet to do this, lol)

If you are on a tight budget I would go with the basics. They are a great deal and will give you a lot more performance than any springs.

The H&R's I had were for the sedan, they were a 1.3/1.2 drop and were great springs. If you are planning any real track time I would do a good set of struts like Tokico D-spec with them. Again by the time you do springs and struts you might as well get some basics.

Oh and the Flex are quite a bit more and then add another ~$300 for the EDFC.
