Re: People with 20s, Warning

gdupg,
Did you read my post? "So for those who are thinking or have 20s, it's really easy to bend these the wheels since we're running 30/35 profile tires." Tell me what the profile size people get when they put 20s on their coupe? 30/35. If you put 17s or 18s on a coupe with 30/35 profile tires, it's going to look pretty stupid and throw off your speedo. 19s will get you a thick profile then 20s.

Re: People with 20s, Warning

I did read your post. I guess I didn't indicate clearly that I have seen people running just as low profile tires (30/35) with a 19" setup on their G's. (one example is RugRatCoupe with 245/35F. / 275/35R)

Also, as I'm sure you know, the sidewall profile measurement is dependent on the width of the tire as well.

(A 245/35 tire has a shorter sidewall compared to a 275/35)
I guess I've been driving lowered cars with rubber band tires long enough that I avoid road hazards like the plague.

I wonder if the size of the lip has anythiing to do with bending the rims more easily? Both vehicles I had bent wheel problems with had rather large lips.

Just to clarify. It wasn't an attack on your post. I just think a more appropriate title would have been people with low profile tires... warning.

Re: People with 20s, Warning

I had a flat w/20's....the front passenger side. I really didn't notice.....it was night time. I drove just up the street and noticed a lot of road noise. Drove from Montebello to West Co w/ a front flat 12am..on the 60frwy! I actually drove up to the gas station the next morning since I can finallly see the tire, and filled it up with air. Luckily I didn't bend the rim and I even changed lanes hitting the markers going 65...just made my steering wheel jerk a small bit. I am running 245/35/20F and 275/30/20R.

Re: People with 20s, Warning

well apparently my SO3's...there was a tiny (very micro mil) gap from the tire seal. They said that 1 in every 400 tires made will probably have it. From their history at Wheel Warehouse...maybe I would be the 4th person ever to have. Well they explained that once I start driving, the hear from the tires expands the tire, sealing the gap. Well when I bought the tires, I went during the hot afternoon and drove around. I kicked it at my friends house till the evening, the tires got cold making my tire flat.

Re: People with 20s, Warning

well I just got back from just tires. I purchase the road hazzard from them and the total came out to be $132 for 4 tires. This warranty protects you from all damages. I figure since the other tire place screwed up on charging me $170 instead of $280 for a 245/35/20 S03, the extra money I would have paid for the tire went to road hazzard.
