19" axis and spacer question

Im looking to get some 19" axis penta, my friend told me that 20's clear brembos without problem. the 19" doesn't clear brembos but with some spacer it will clear.

If that is correct why do the 19" doesn't clear brembos, also what spacer size i would need ?

The 19 offset is probably higher (closer to suspension), most of the Axis 20s offsets are lower (out closer to the fender).

Can't answer the spacer size question.

I found this

wheel size 20x9 front (2.5" lip) wheel offset 25mm
wheel size 20x10 rear (4.25" lip) wheel offset 25mm

wheel size 19x8.5 front offset 35mm
wheel size 19x9.5 rear offset 40mm

^^^^ You should be able to answer your own question about why from looking at those offets. There is a considerable differnce in offsets between the 19"s and 20"s. Also, it depends on the spoke design of the wheel, unless you are looking at the same exact wheels, you need to consider that.

The difference in the above wheel configs

20x9 +25 is 4mm of additional inner clearance 16mm closer to the fenders
20x10 +25 is 9mm of additional inner clearance 21mm closer to the fenders

Depending on the contour of the spokes you may only need a 4mm spacer to equal the same inner clearance as the 20s, to get the same offset to the fender it would require a 16mm spacer for the fronts.

Rear should be easy to figure out with the above numbers.

Bringing it back from the dead. Im about to buy some Axis Pentas off of craigslist but wanted to make sure they would fit first. I have a 04 coupe with brembos bone stock. the pentas i will be getting are 19x8.5 with 245/35/19 for the fronts and the rears are 20x10 with 275/35/20. does anyone know if the i will need spacers? If so how big? Id like for the wheel to site flush with the fenders or maybe even stick out just abit.

kinda weird, but +1 on the above post.
found a very inexpensive set of 19" axis pentas on craigslist as well. i have 03 coupe w /brembos.
i understand the sizing and offsets, however, i am unsure of how they translate to the actual fitment.
any help is greatly appreciated.
