tire pressure sensor ?

i need some feedback. for those who have aftermarket wheels (19in) on there coupe, is it recommend that you have the tire pressure sensor installed with the tires to avoid the sensor to be set off. does it even matter if there on there or not? where is it located and how is it installed? thanks

Re: tire pressure sensor ?

You do not have to get the tire pressure sensors.

I have a set of winter tires and rims (without the sensors). It will not warm me if I have low pressure, but it doesn't give any false alarms. Well, it the light does turn on after I've been driving for 30-45 minutes. But that's all

I talked to the dealer about adding the sensors to my winter rims, and he said the sensors were $400 apiece! Ouch, I'm not spending $1600 for tire pressure sensors.

Don't you find it funny that the price of the sport pkg went up 300 bucks, in '04 and another 50 somewhere else to a total of 350, and all they added was the tire pressure, then they want 400 a piece to add them??? are we talking 400% profit???

OEM car parts from the dealer are always expensive. Have you checked out the price of the stock rims? Ouch. They cost more than the fanciest of aftermarket rims.
