Tires to run with 18x 7.5s
Tires to run with 18x 7.5s
I know the best size for these rims is 225/45r18 to keep VDC and speedo in line, but there is a very limited amount of selection out there, and crap are they ever pricy. I have a 2003 sedan with 17x7 wheels sport package. The rims I like only come in 18 x 7.5 not 18 x 8. I live in Colorado and have Blizzacks on the stock wheels rightnow, but want a set of rims and tires for summer. My choice would be to buy another set of 17" rims in either 7 or 7.5 width and run 235/50r17s or size up to 18 x 7.5s. I have been told that it is okay to go with 235 tires, but no wider up front. Help?!!!???!!!!! Arrgh??!!*&#%

235/45-18 would pretty much be perfect on a sedan. However I don't know how good of a summer tire you can find in that size. What offset can you get those rims in?

I have the Continental ContiSportContact 2 tires on my sedan. They are an ultra high performance summer tire and at 235/45/18 would be a perfect fit. This brand of tire comes standard on the Porche Boxter S, and the Audi A4 3.0 sport package, and some flavors of the BMW 3 series (as I understand it).
It's probably not soft enough for dedicated track or autocross usage but makes a great street tire.

stretch a 215/40 on there. the look is sick! the performance will be great too providing you purchase a great tire! a great all around tire would be Falken ziex 512's.
