Tire Sizes for 20s

Right now I have in the front 245/35/20 (8.5"), and in the rear 275/30/20 (10"). I really don't like how the front has thicker tires. So I was thinking about going with 255/30/20 and 285/30/20. Would this be okay? I'm afraid the 255s won't fit on the 8.5 rim. Also how off will my OD be?

255/30/20 is actually the right sized tire, not the 245/35/20 you were running before. for 20's you should be using 30 series. The 255 will fit fine on the 8.5" wheel

Those were the tires that came with the wheels. Thanks though man.

Just gotta wait til the treads are finished with these then time for new tires.

what brand tires are you using with those sizes? I have a hard time finding availability of those sizes. (based on tiredeal4less.com and edgeracing.com)

i need quick advice ...!!
my local shop has my rims.. and mounted 255s on 'em. What will 255s look like on a 10" wide rim?? Is that okay? Safe? vulnerable to curbs???

255 is narrow for a 10" wide wheel IMO. What series tire is that anyways?

Its a better option than ruining the stagger by putting a 255/35/20 in the front and having the front tire taller than the rear. If you are worried about not having enough meat on the tires, you should be running 19's, not 20's.

i believe he said they were 255/30 but said it would work great and look exceptional. he actually manages the tire shop and said he could get me anything i want. he just says it'll be perfect and wont cause any damage

tire fitment has nothing to do with brakes... i dont get it. As long as you have an offset or enough neg. camber to accommodate the 295 then it'll fit.
