255 is def too narrow for a 10" wide wheel then, you'll want either a 275/30/20 or 285/30/20

he says its fine, if not better... i wanted 285s but he keeps pushin' the 255s. is it safe to run? he also wants to put 245s on my 20x8.5 fronts

what is his reasoning for it being "better"? Wider the better IMO, more grip and protection for the rim

i agree, hes the shop manager and friend, but he insists its more than adequate. says i wont have any trouble on hard corners, etc. i just wasnt sure if 255 even fit on a 10" wide rim. seems like a disaster waiting to happen..? do people on this board run tires that small? i know the stretched look is "cool," but do they go that small?

A pretty common setup is a 255 on a 9.5 on the front of the car, but not on the rear. Some people run 255's on the stock 8.5's. A 255 on a 10" wheel is going to look quite stretched with the lip of the wheel exposed and more susceptable to damage.
