winter rim sizes

I have an 04 with the brembo package. I'd like to go with 17's for winter to get better traction, and maybe not as wide as well. Are there any cars that I may find at a junkyard besides the Z that came with stock rims that would clear the brembos?

And if not, does anyone recommend a cheap set and size that I could get from a place such as tirerack?

Thanks

I have the same setup as you. I've been told the ASA JH3 17" rims from www.tirerack.com (94$each) fit our cars good. I am in the process of getting a set myself in the next few weeks... Hope that helps.

How do I know if those rims fit over the brembos? I thought the 17's from G's wouldn't fit on the break package.

Also, back to my first question, are there any other cars that came with stock rims that will fit?

+1 I have these too and they are cheap and nice enough for the winter.

What sizes would you recommend for my 04 coupe?

The wheels description recommend front 225/50/17 and rear 235/50/17...

TireRack says 225/50/17 and 225/55/17.... Which one is right or would either work?

either one will work, the 225/235 setup will have better dry handling, while the staggered 225 setup will handle heavy rain/snow better

Excellent thats exactly what I was looking for. I'm going with the better rain/snow set up due to the piles of snow we get here every year with the lack of street cleaning.

Sorry...I run 225/50-17 front and 225/55-17 rear. They handle surprisingly well in the dry.
