A better question is why you planning on running 245/40/19?

I'm not, that was the size that was given to me by a sponsor. I'm going to make a thread to clarify a bit more on

tire sizes and offsets, but now I'm concerned with the price.

I have T1r's, I need to replace the rears soon, wondering if I should make the switch to the Falkens.

If I get the falkens I would need to replace all 4 tires, if I get the toyos I would only need two, its a hard decision.

BTW what size do people use for the fronts on the OEM 19's, I can't find any falkens that fit.

I'm in the same situation. I have actually talked to a few people here in SoCal that have the Falkens and have heard nothing but good things about them. The Toyos are okay but I'm looking for a change. I might go with the 452's.

why are you surprised that the t1r's are wearing better than the ps2's?

as far as the 452's go, i've heard good and bad things about them. i've read that some people have trouble holding air in them, while others with no problems absolutely love them.

you dont need to replace all 4... you can run mismatched front and rear i did for a while... toyo t1r's in the front and Falken 452's in the rear... then i got a flat in the front left that coudnt be fixed so i bought 2 new Falkens for the front...

as for the sizes iv always had 245/40/19 front and rear... no VDC problems ever...

BTW the Falkens are much better than the T1R's...

just scrapped a pair of 295 25 20 t1rs today. WEAK sidewalls. but still, i recommend them for their tread life.
t1r ftw!

Having had several sets/sizes of Toyo T1S and Toyo T1R, and reading great reviews about the Falken FK452, I wouldn't hesitate to try either tire for street use. Pricing is within a few bucks of each other for a complete set, and neither is really a track tire...

I'm noticing that on some sites the Falkens (FK452) can be fair bit cheaper, 245/45-18 go for $125/per @ Edge Racing where the T1-Rs go for $177/per. Is this normal? What sort of rear life do you expect out of either? Seriously, 125. Seems too good to be true.

Wow, I'm just about sold on the Falkens. Looked at the various Pilots, T1-R, Goodyear Eagle F1 AS and Pirelli P-Zero Neros. Like Neogens, but not quite the right size. I've got the 220UTQG Pilot Sports on now.

The Goodyear, Pirelli, and Michelin tires you listed are much better than the Toyo, Falken, and Nitto tires you're comparing them to. Not in the same class.
