Winter tire help
It started snowing here and I really need some snow tires. This is my first time getting a set. I looked around on craigslist and found:
Bridgestone Blizzak LM22 225/45 18R
(Winter Sport) DUNLOP 235/40R 18 95 V M+S
Bridgestone Blizzak performance winter tires - 235/40 R18 LM-25
I know stock tires are 225/45 in the front 245/45 in the rear
Which one would you recommend?

The first you listed would work for the front. The second would be good for a summer tire choice since they are wider, but you never want to go wider on a winter tire set-up, always the same or narrower. I would use a 225/55R18, 235/50R18 or 245/45R18's for the back.
This is how you read the tire size:
225/45R18 95Y (example only)
225 is the tire width in MM (milimeters)
45 is the aspect ratio (45% of the width, which is 225mm)
R stands for radial
18 is the rim size it fits on
95 is the load rating (pay attention to this as most tire shop will overlook this, you want to stay at the same or go higher up in load rating)
Y is the maximum speed rating (in this case 186mph)

In the long run, getting 17 inch sizes is a more economical choice. The tires a less and you can get stock wheels cheap or buy a complete set from tirerack.com. I recommend going with the 225x55x17 or 235x50x17. Also, I found that two seasons on winters is the max for best traction. Tread depth is very important, especially in winter - buy new.
