I agree that the shorter profile looks good… there are other considerations (for me anyway) – a little extra rubber to protect the over-priced wheels and the 40 series fills out the wheel well a bit (26.7 diameter vs OEM 26.3 diameter) 35 series is a bit smaller, 25.8 diameter… the speed ratio is small – speedo is 1.5% too slow with the 40s, 2.1% too fast with 35s
This isn’t to say that 35s aren’t a good option – they look great… But 40s have some things to consider that are a plus for some people (these considerations are what drove my decision).

Two: 225/35/19s and two: 245/35/19s Dunlop Direzzas $660
Two: 225/40/19s and two: 245/40/19s Bridgestone Potenz RE50 $1020
Plus, with the Direzzas(according to superb16) you don't need to roll the rear fender lip for clearance, even with 1" drop. I have read that the direzzas are quieter than the Bridgestone's as well. Plus, the direzza is not available in 40 series...and 35 series looks hawt.
Hopefully speedo error is negligible and roads are good in general in my area....but generally speaking...a pothole that focks 35 series will also fock 40 series.......12mm is not going to save you..lol
Falken Azenis st115 is a good choice too.
235/35 front
245/35 rear $720 total.
Question, would it be better to run 245/35 on all 4 corners for equal side wall height

245/40/19 = 26.7"/678.6mm - a difference of .4"/10.3mm
245/35/19 = 25.8"/654.1mm - a difference of .5"/14.2mm
so in this case 245/40/19 are closer to OEM diameter than 245/35/19
Edit: I just realized your calculations are the same as mine... how do you figure 40 series in not closer to OEM diameter than 35??? You listed the difference and indicated implied that it is not??? It doesn’t matter if it’s taller of shorter when the statement was referencing “closer”
