Pictures of SSR GT1 on Sedan

I know I can see them at Tire Rack, but would like to see an actual photo on an actual car.

Anyone happen to have these wheels and some pics?

Thanks,

Found one!

I knew they'd look better in 'person' than on the tirerack site!

Re: Pictures of SSR GT1 on Sedan

you're right, no wonder they looked so shiny, I've afraid the GT1 is too dull of a finish, the pic of the wheel itself on tirerack looks dull, but the pics they have on cars look pretty good...

Re: Pictures of SSR GT1 on Sedan

I am getting the GT1's soon (hopefully). I like the fact that they are a single piece design and that they are SO light (17lbs -19 lbs (rear))

Re: Pictures of SSR GT1 on Sedan

Have you decided which size of GT1 you're going to get yet? What size tires are you thinking of putting on them?

Gurgen,
Are you not planning on running 275 at the back? If not, seems kind of a waste to go 9.0" back there.

Re: Pictures of SSR GT1 on Sedan

I'm sorry, but I have access to neither a digi-cam nor a scanner. But the wheels look really, really good on there!

Just as an aside, I drove an on-ramp the other day here in Memphis, an upward-sloping right-hander shaped very close to a perfect circle. If anything, the radius tightens at the top just a tad where it meets the highway. In other words, it's a 200-ft. radius skid pad.

I entered at the bottom end at about 45-mph, normally what I would safely maintain as I drove around. I immediately began to smoothly increase the throttle. By the middle of the ramp, I was going 60-mph+, and there was not a hint of understeer nor oversteer. Body roll was minimal. I continued to smoothly add more throttle, even as I approached the top section where the turn radius tightens up. I entered the highway at 90-mph+, without the first slip/slide anywhere on the ramp. I was mashed up against the driverside door from hip to shoulder, as there are, of course, no bolsters on the seat.

Good news, the car was absolutely planted. The car just ran around that ramp as if on rails. I was ready to back out of the throttle at the first sign of trouble, but there was no trouble. Bad news, I ran out of ***** before I ran out of throttle: With no slip or slide, I failed to determine how my car is balanced, now that I have my Eibach Sways set on firm/firm. I wanted to see if I could break the tires loose. I tried, but I just couldn't do it.

Uh, that was fun...

Re: Pictures of SSR GT1 on Sedan

Of course, Clint

I meant 245 in the front and 275 in the back. If I could get 9.5" rims in the back with the right offset (+55 or smth), I would go even wider.

Re: Pictures of SSR GT1 on Sedan

Gurgen,

Haha ... yeah, you can actually squeeze 10.0 with +55 offset. Some dude's even got the 10.0, +45 to run with some serious negative camber to assist the tuck. I was told it looked fine, but I wouldn't take their words for it unless I saw it w. my own eyes.

Btw ... you may want to consider running F: 245/35 and R: 275/30. The tire selections are much wider (check attachment). F/R ratio is still maintained (1% diff) for VDC to work correctly and there's also a slight rwhp bonus for being slightly under on the O.D. These are also the same ones I'm running.

Just food for thought

Re: Pictures of SSR GT1 on Sedan

I keep forgetting that some of you guys either don't lower the car (so it doesn't matter as much if the tire is under the fender) or you don't have custom arms to adjust back to normal camber.

Here's my car (lowered and with camber arms) with a 9.0" +55 rim and a 265/40-18 tire. My fenders are also rolled, which you can see if you look very closely.

There's not a whole lot of extra room, IMO, if you consider that the fender of the car will hunker down right over the sidewall of the tire when going over a large bump, etc.

Clint

Remember I have 18" rims, so I can't get 275/30's in the back because they are 6.9% smaller, whereas on the 19" only 3% smaller.

So for me, the 275/35 are in much greater supply than the 30's.

Steve,

Nice wheels! Can you tell us what wheels those are - they look GREAT - perfect offset.
