I've noticed a lot of threads asking for the factory recommended alignment specifications for G35s. To my knowledge, we don't have a thread which lists these specs and most responses say just go to an alignment shop. Hopefully this thread can become the one-stop-shop for finding the factory alignment specs.

Be sure to set at NOMINAL [EXACT middle of range] for each parameter "in warranty spec" is worthless if ideal tire life is desired!

Infiniti forgot to add 19" rims to the 2005 guide.

So my question is, are these the spec to use if you have aftermarket rims and/or
drop?? (Sorry, I'm a total NOOB when it comes to alignments, wheel and offsets.)

I have 19x8.5 F / 19x9.5 R with no drop (yet).

A friend of the family is a "Nissan Master Tech" (GTR certified) so I can assume he knows what he's talking about when it comes to Nissan products. He had told me that Nissan Corp had updated the alignment specs on the 350Z to decrease the tire feathering issue (excessive inner wear of the front tires). Is this public information which is updated by shops such as NTB? I bought a 3 year unlimited alignment package and been getting an alignment every 6 months on my 2005 coupe with oem 19s, everything on my car is stock. I run OEM 19s for 3 seasons and oem 17s in the winter. I remember when I got an alignment at the dealership on the Potenzas RE050A, it seems to have worn a lot evenly than other setups (Falken 452, Toyo T1Rs) that I have had aligned at National Tire & Battery. Any inputs? I don't mind going to the dealership and paying $90 IF they are aligning to updated specs. Any information would be helpful. I called the dealer and the person that I talked to said he doesn't know and they just go by what the computer states :/

 

hmm, that's a good question. bump - hopefully someone knows!

 

Factory specs are the amount of misalignment* necessary with OEM as built suspension to maximize MPG at 55 mph. When every you lower or redesign the suspension [wheels, tires, springs, etc] you must create a new set of YOUR Alignment specs.
Most don't understand this and copy oem specs because they do not have engineering expertise or test equipment necessary.

* misalignment sitting still so that it is optimum on highway at speed when the bushings are compressed by forward speed. Tires are forced rearward and straight [toe] by rotation forces.

Hey Chris, you wanna add the specs for the Z?
Someone recently said they put Z springs on their sedan, and it wouldn't quiiiiiite go back into spec for the SEDAN but it did go into spec for the 350Z.

 

i'll dig around online to see if i can find all the manuals hosted somewhere, but i can't make any promises.

as for the guy with the z springs, i think he should be using the specs for a G regardless. my guess is he'll need camber kits (front & rear) and toe bolts to get back into factory specs. he'll have to decide for himself whether the expense is worth it.
