Just need some input

I have a stock 2004 Sedan

With stock rims, so I need 215/55/17 I was looking at the falkens but they don't have that size, so the place I went suggested putting on the General Exclaim UHP for $610/set (215/55/17) installed taxes in (In Canada).

I read some mixed reviews, good, bad, poop tire wear etc...

Anyone running these or Anyone have suggestions?

I had them in a staggered 19" setup on my sedan. I loved them. nice ride, great traction, quiet too! my sedan is lowered and I hadn't corrected the front camber. after about 6 months, the front tires go really noisy, but that was because I was wearing through the inside edge of the tire. at the time, I was upset about the tires, but later I realized that it was all due to the camber issue.

how are they with tread wear?
how many miles or km's do you own them for?

will they last at least for 2-3 seasons? I have winters for about 1/3 of the year...I don't push the car all the time so they should last at least 2 season...no?

If you're getting new tires, might as well go a little wider while you're at it.

 

how wide can I go with stock rims?
or what tire size would you recommend for the stock rim?

 

Summer tires can last you up to 2 seasons if you don't drive all that much AND have a dedicated set of winter tires. My summer tires are off for 4-5 months out of the year due to winter.

 

hmmm that makes me think, I drive about 35,000 Km / year, with 4 months of winter tires, now you think they(summer tires) will last me 2 seasons?
Do all season tires have better wear? I see some are rated 100,000km? hmmmmmm

 

I got'em on my aftermarket 19's and i think they're great

 

Depends on your driving habits but if you're sticking with stock sizes and not going any wider, I would consider all-seasons if you're worried about wear. Since you do have a winter setup, normally it would make sense to get summer tires for the best dry weather performance in the warmer months but if you're that concerned about getting the most out of your tires, all seasons might be the better option. If you plan to drive ~20K+ miles a year on summer tires, you'll have to baby them and rotate them to last you 2 seasons.

 

yeah makes me think, I usually do about 35,000 km's a year, I drive a lot some days, I need something comfortable...might get all seasons, although I never had pure summer tires...
