Wet Traction

Hi all,

Assuming no snow is on the ground, do summer tires or all-seasons have better traction in the rain?

I have a set of winter tires, and am trying to figure out if I should get some all-seasons or summer tires.

Thanks!

wet driving

I bought the super expensive 19" Yokohama Advan Sport summer tires for my 06 Coupe and in wet conditions have not slipped. Mind you, I am slipping it when I gun the car though.

I have yet switch to my winter tires this season. Still have my 19' forged rims on and its great as the weather in caglary has been cooperating.

i think it depends on the specific tire. i've seen summers that have been **** poor as well as all seasons. (the all seasons on my parent's van are horrendous, they hydro plane if it's even damp.)

if you're talking relatively low temperature wet (below 6 or 7 degrees), the all seasons will do better, rest of the time i'd stick with a good set of summers designed for wet weather.

kinda sad, i'm starting to think that 3 sets of tires are needed, winters, summers, and allseasons for when it's too warm during the day for winters, and too cool at night for summers...
