The T1R's are the best bang for the buck - they stay quiet, work REALLY well wet or dry - cost 1/2 of the PS2's - and unless your tracking or really canyon driving much - you wont know the difference, other that it being a nice quiet ride. The Falken 452's work well too - about the same price as the Toyo - but I'd buy the Toyo over them.

The only thing you need to really consider, is what sizes to get...stay stock or get a little more rubber.

I'll second the wear on the PS2, especially if you like to have a bit of fun. The noise I really haven't noticed to be honest. I'll keep my ear out? next time.
The Toyo's are definetly a good tire especially at the price, thats no doubt.
The PS2s tend to burrow through your wallet rather quick.

So yes they are good, but if you want the best, Michelin PS2s are probably it in terms of summer performance.
For those of you claiming T1 superiority, I respect your opinion, but try the same car out on either and I'll bet you'd be happier with the PS2s, if I had to be a bettin man.
I have had stock sedan 17 tires - garbage
OEM bridgstone RE050 - great tires, average grip, too noisy
Goodyear f1 DSG 3 - excellent in wet, very quiet, loose their grip and get very soft after 5 miles of very hard driving.
Toyo t1r - excellent in wet, almost as quiet as the DSG3s, don't lose their grip after 20 strait minutes of 110 mph cornering also these are the only tires that i could get consistent 2.1 60 ft times at the dragstrip.

I don't know how PS2s are but if i personally will not buy any other street tire than t1rs. These reviews are strait from me and all the pounding that each tire got from me. That "young crowd" that u are referring to has done a lot of testing on these tires unlike some the older people that give their "how quiet review" on these tires.

RE050 are noisy as hell, I can't stand it sometimes on crappy SoCal roads. It's time for new rears maybe I'll give T1R a shot, heard a lot of good things about it. T1R is also one of the lightest 19" tires, which cuts down on rotational mass greatly.
