Question 245/40r19 vs 255/35r19

Are there any issues with making this change? That stock 245/40 size is only made by a couple manufacturers and they are charging through the nose for that size.

For example. goodyear eagle f1 245/40, $320 a pop. Goodyear eagle f1 255/35, $230 a pop. That's a $90 per tire difference. The only difference I figure is the the 35 tire is about .4" wider and about .35" lower sidewall height.

G coupe lowered on 350z s-techs. I don't think the reduced sidewall height would be any problem and what should be a .2 increase in width on the fender side shouldn't be either.

Any thoughts?

ok with those new tires your sidewall will be .4 in shorter and your speedometer will read 2.6% too fast.

not sure if you know about this site, but this is where I got the info. you can try out other sizes also. http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

speedo a couple mph too fast is fully something I can live with. Keeps me under the limit and more importantly under the 15mph over really spendy ticket
