i have been running anywhere from 40 to 45 psi, or at least i like to keep it within that range since the tires do deflate. i believe the ideal psi for 19 was 42, i have to double check that again, but i think that's pretty close.

Well, I got my rim and tire back from the Rim repair shop. He said the rim was strait and undamaged. The tire held air for the first day, and then overnight, lost half its tire pressure, and I loaded it up again, and it was flat once again that night. I had the repair shop write up a letter stating the rim is in perfect condition and therefore it must be the tire. So now, week 5 begins with my G still sitting on jack stands, and now my fight returns to Tire Discounters. I plan to return to the original shop and see the original manager i dealt with in the beginning with this instead of dealing with the manager at another shop who believes that if a tire doesnt hold air, it must be the rim...

man, this sucks...

i run 36 psi just fine as well... 42 is for a passenger tire, not a extreme performance tire... read the sidewall bud

seriously, get a spray bottle and put a few drops of dish soap in there. shake alittle and get to spraying that tire/wheel down. There is no mystery to the the leaking air, it will bubble. Be sure not to let the soap dry on your wheels.

the leak is from the beads no doubt. the leak moves each time the tire is mounted and remounted. I have found the leak myself and marked it, but it doesnt make a difference.

I just spoke with the manager that I first dealt with at tire discounters, and he remembers my issue. So as week 5 starts, I am taking both rear rims into his shop (a 40 min drive for me, that sucks, but if it takes care of it, its worth it) and he is going to look at it tomorrow night and keep them for a day to see if they can figure it out.

so, here we go again!

well, I went back to the original shop and original manager at tire discounters...those guys know there stuff. I didnt have the wheel there for 20 mins, and they had the tire off the wheel, shaved the beads (apparently as Session mentioned, the little hairs did cause issues, one of the shop guys had the same issue with the same tires on his truck), and loaded up my wheel in my truck!! the manager, chris, called BFGoodrich themselves and made them aware of this issue, even mentioned this thread and everyone that has the issues.
Chris mentioned to me, if you have issues leaking like i did, take it back to the shop, mention this thread and how many ppl had the same issue, and that the solution so far (if no apparent other reason for leaking) is to shave off those "nipples" left on the tire from being manufactured, especially around the bead...Those nipples as referred to by CHris, are those things that look like hair on the tires when you by them brand new. Those things are what caused the issues around the bead.

My props to This shop, and not so much to the other. 10 hours later, and my tire has not lost any air in the tire.

Glad things went well. These tires are really great. Very aggressive tire specially on wet conditions. These tires aquathread and grip so well you won't feel the wetness on the road. An 1/8" thicker than most tires as well which gives you a little bit of thread life. Looks even good with the car parked because of the flame out pattern. Enjoy 'em bro!

Thanks Session!!!
I have had these tires on my G35 for about two years now and I also love how well they track in the water and even moreso on the backroads...stable and smooth.
The tire has held air for two days now, and I am actually pulling the car out of the garage tonight and taking in on a good drive. On the way, I am driving by the Tire Discounters where they fixed the tire and thanking them again. Also, my other rear, that has about 24k miles on it, is pretty worn, so I am going to see if they can milage warrenty it for a new one. The tread when side by side shows how much they have worn, but also, how little compared to other high performance summer tires I have owned. I love this tires...
