Cool damaged wheel in shipping

If the wheel is BRAND NEW Then the condition of how it is packed is the factor.
If the shipper properly packed correctly, then it is UPS's resp. as that is why you have the insurance.
File the claim with ups, & if they come back to you with the "it was not packed properly" they must prove the packaging was done incorrectly.
If the company who shipped them does this all the time, they can not say it was not packed properly. Obviuosly they were damaged in transit. Did you note the damage at time of delivery(did you sign off clean or did you note the damage) If you signed clean, then you have what is called concealed damage.
Your ups insurance will pay out.
I had a case once where ups insured A piece of artwork for $50,000.00 & they damaged in transit.
they tried to say it was not packed properly, lol.
Suckers, just went to thier website & reviewed the conditions for proper packing.Customer packed themselves & piece had $8,000.00 in damages.
Whipped them in court on behalf of client who was getting JO by ups claims dept.

The Pentas have a machined lip with a clearcoat, right? They'll have to strip the clear, repair the nicks and scratches, and apply another coat of clear. No, it will not look the same. For $400 or $450, you can do as Redlude says and get a new wheel, or have all four wheel lips polished so they match.

Thanks guys. As I have said at least twice. IT WAS PACKAGED BY A UPS STORE. Obviously the packaging was the problem but they're responsible for that. I will try to buy a new rim as soon as this **** is resolved. I hope it doesnt take too long Its only been a week but seems a lot longer

Nice. Since his last post was in April, I would imagine by now UPS has already paid him and he's already purchased a new wheel and had it installed. But good info for someone else.

I haven't been around these forums long enough but from what I've heard you need to be careful when buying stuff from my350z members -even if they have a good iTrade rating.

Wow. I'm surprised it took UPS so long. I filed a damage claim with UPS on a brand new road bike and UPS cut me a check for $2,300 about a week after they inspected the damage. They then returned the damaged bike to me.

All I had to do was to buy a missing wheel skewer and have both wheels retrued for about $60 and I ended up with a brand new $2,300 road bike AND $2,300 cash from UPS.

my advice to you would be to go with a reputable shop, rather than going with a cheap fix that might prove to be temporary...
