18's getting replaced today
Hi All,
I thought everyone should know about a small issue I had with the 18's on my G35c. Here's the background: I after washing my rims with soap and water I would let the tires dry. Then I would apply spray on Tire shine product. Most commonly I would used something by the name of Wet Black. The solution looks purple (just an fyi). Anyways, evidently the excess (which I am usually very carefull to wipe up) dripped down the rims. The next day the rims basically had light black streaks. In essence they looked like zebra stripes. Tried as I might, these streaks would not come out. It was almost as if the excess tire shine product ate away at the finish.
To make a long story short, the dealership is replacing the rims alltogether today. The initial warranty work was denied by the factory, but the dealerships Service Manager went to bat for me with the regional Infiniti rep and they agreed to replace them
I should have taken pictures for you guys before the replacement, but I can garauntee you all they I will never be using spray on tire shine product again.
