Clearcoats on Ray/Volks/Works etc.. are very delicate and even car soaps let alone brake dust, grime you pick up while driving, and the like can burn right through the clearcoat. Once that happens you are pretty much stuck with getting them polished or re-coated. You can try vinegar and water at about 50/50 to remove any chemicals that have not burned through the clearcoat entirely.
If you are going to invest in nice wheels you should also invest in a quality wheel cleaner and sealant to protect your assets. I would avoid ever using a drive through wash or any place that does not completely handwash your vehicle and is not willing to keep your wheels away from their chemicals.
